International Buzz at the 25th BWFA Auction in Waregem

For the 25th anniversary of the Belgian BWFA auction, the team headed to the stunning venue of Hippo Jump Waregem. The evening opened with a heartfelt tribute to the auction’s founding fathers, Hubert Hamerlinck and Dirk Zagers, setting the tone for a memorable night.

It didn’t take long for the bids to start rolling in, and the international interest was remarkable. Several foals and young horses are now set to cross borders, while many top-level stables also made their presence known in the hall.

“With 91% of the 38 foals and horses sold, we look back on this edition with great satisfaction,” said the organizers. “We’re already feeling inspired and motivated for next year’s edition.”

Auction Highlights and Top Prices

One of the undisputed stars of the evening was C-United van de Paepehoeve, a colt by United Touch 'S' out of the 1.55m jumping mare Granate. The foal was sold for €20,000 to Dutch rider Suus Kuyten, who now owns a striking prospect for the future.

Another hot item was Chase van den Bisschop, a son of Heartbreaker from the famed Babbe van 't Roosakker dam line. He fetched €16,000 after a spirited bidding duel.

It wasn’t just the foals that captured attention. The young sport horses were equally in demand. The five-year-old BWP mare Uruguay Odeveld (Emerald x Chellano Z) was sold for an impressive €65,000. Meanwhile, Urbanus van het Heylenshof (Piece of Cake x Eristoff vd Zuuthoeve), also five years old, went to a new home for €44,000.
